Coorg—Scotland of East, is a serenading place in Karnataka gifted with luscious greenery and aromatic coffee estates. Also, there are silvery waterfalls in Coorg that attract not only locals but tourists from all over the country.
The waterfalls look stunning at first—gushing down the forested hills with the sheer power of just water. it is hard to wrap your mind around the fact that the flow of water can create crevasses through rocks which, over the course of thousands of years, has turned into a waterfall. They form magical sights during monsoons—i.e., June to September, drawing in tourists for a day picnic, excursion, trekking and waterfall rappelling. You may have heard of some of these wonderful waterfalls, but it is time to explore them. Amanvana Spa brings you the 4 best waterfalls to visit in Karnataka.
Abbey Falls
This beautiful waterfall is one of the most popular and beautiful waterfalls in Coorg. The falls was earlier called Jessi falls, named after a British officer's wife. However, the place was a thick jungle area back then. Now it is amidst coffee plantations, pepper bushes and spice gardens. One needs to walk half a mile downslope to view how beautifully Cauvery River surges down the rocks to form this waterfall.

Iruppu Falls
The Iruppu Falls is located in the Brahmagiri Range in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, India, bordering the Wayanad district of Kerala. The Falls are also known as the Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, derived from the name of the tributary of Cauvery which starts from these falls, the Lakshmana Tirtha River. A forest trail from these falls leads to the Brahmagiri Peak in Southern Coorg. Iruppu falls is located at an approximate distance of 75 kilometres from Amanvana Resort & Spa.
Chelavara Falls
Chelavara Falls is one of the most picturesque and pristine waterfalls near Coorg, best known for its splendid vista and magnificent size. Located almost 55 kilometres away from Amanvana Spa Resort, the Chelavara Falls are locally known as Emepaare, which means tortoise in the local dialect.
